Getting Around

The green train only operates when cruise ships are docked. The train takes you on a 1.5 hour tour of the sites of Noumea including Lemon Bay, and up for breathtaking views at Canons du Ouen Toro. Tickets are available from near the point where the ship shuttle bus drops you off. Train includes a tour guide telling you about the sights and history of Noumea.

Lighthouse offering a climb with stunning views of the surrounding reef and lagoon. The lighthouse is located on Amedée Island, accessible only by boat. The Island is the perfect place to snorkel and explore the crystal blue waters of Noumea.

Cruise ship terminal in the port of Noumea. Due to their size, most cruise ships will instead dock in the working port, and the cruise ship will provide shuttle buses which will take passengers to the Cruise Ship Terminal.

At the terminal there is a tourist information stand, and market. Close by their are waterfront dining options, and local tour companies selling tours including the green train, and hop-on/hop-off bus.

Small island located a short water taxi away from the Noumea city centre. Duck Island provides the perfect location for a day enjoying the beach, and snorkeling.

Anse Vata Beach is a stunning crescent-shaped beach located just a short walk from the center of Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia. With its white sand, crystal-clear waters, and swaying palm trees, it's the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. The beach is also a popular spot for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. There are several restaurants and cafes along the beach, as well as showers and toilets.
