Anse Vata Beach is a stunning crescent-shaped beach located just a short walk from the center of Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia. Getting Around

The green train only operates when cruise ships are docked. The train takes you on a 1.5 hour tour of the sites of Noumea including Lemon Bay, and up for breathtaking views at Canons du Ouen Toro. Tickets are available from near the point where the ship shuttle bus drops you off. Train includes a tour guide telling you about the sights and history of Noumea.

Cruise ship terminal in the port of Noumea. Due to their size, most cruise ships will instead dock in the working port, and the cruise ship will provide shuttle buses which will take passengers to the Cruise Ship Terminal.

At the terminal there is a tourist information stand, and market. Close by their are waterfront dining options, and local tour companies selling tours including the green train, and hop-on/hop-off bus.

Place des Cocotiers is a central square in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It is a popular tourist destination, and is known for its lively atmosphere and beautiful architecture. The square is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and cafes, and is a great place to relax and watch the world go by.

In the heritage building that was home to the cities first bank, the Noumea City Museum (or Town Museum) explores the history of Noumea from its penal colony past, to the role Noumea played in both world wars.

Departing directly from Noumea's cruise terminal, this half-day tour offers a chance to see the wild side of one of the world's largest lagoons. Head to Signal Island, a quiet white-sand island which few tourists take the time to visit. Swim in water frequented by turtles and see colorful corals and reef fish. Arrive back in Port refreshed in the early afternoon, leaving plenty of time to see the sights in Noumea.
